Muir Woods and Sausalito

This weekend brought me to Muir Woods and Sausalito. Driving from San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge, we were in fog pretty much all the way in. As we descended into the valley where Muir Woods were, it started to clear and the sun made itself known. It allowed me to take some pictures of the trails.

We then went to Sausalito, where we had lunch at Horizons on the waterfront. When walking in, there were 8 Dodge Vipers in the Valet Parking area. Must be a rally somehwere in the area. We walked around Sausalito for a while, and of course I took some more pictures

Napa trip

My friend Heather, her brother, her cousin, and I all made a trip to Napa this weekend. We hit Sterling and Mumm. Since Heather was a club member at Sterling, we got to taste some wines for free and buy some bottles at a discount. At Mumm, we learned about sparkling wine and sipped some fine champagne. Afterwards, the ladies wanted to hit the Napa Outlets, and it was back to San Francisco for some dinner. Of course I snapped some pictures. I hope to return again for some more tastings.

Macro Photos and Experimentation

Since I did not venture far beyond my neighborhood this weekend, I decided to take some pictures of the flowers in my garden and to experiment with both shooting in RAW format and also with my camera's macro features. Conclusion is that RAW is much better, but less convenient because of the inherent conversion that must take place.

Long Weekend

Drove around Saratoga south of where I live. Went along some of the trails there, but not much in terms of good photography, as the summers here tend to make everything a shade of brown. A very colorful water valve caught my eye as I was driving back from Saratoga
