Scharffen Berger Chocolatier

People who know me know that I really like dark chocolate. Scharffen Berger is a local chocolatier that specializes in dark chocolate. In fact, the only "non-dark" chocolate is made at another facility using their dark chocolate as a base. We took a tour of the facility and of course got to sample some of the chocolate. Carmel Getaway

Went with Theresa, Albert, and Clarissa on a day trip to Carmel over the long July 4 weekend. Got a chance to take the camera. The plan was to hit a few Carmel Valley Wineries, but they each wanted $5 to taste, so we changed plans. We dropped by an organic farm and market where they had a pretty cool looking Ford delivery truck from the turn of the century and a red red tractor.

We then went walking around Carmel by the Sea and before going to the Carmel mission. It happened to be founder's day, so lots of docents around explaining the rich history of the mission. They even opened up the small chapel adjacent to the church where Pope John Paul II prayed on his visit to the mission. Full Gallery, click here
